Hi from the US. You are all in league with Stan, you haven't aged a bit since I saw you play, what, 12 years ago? Bugger me, doesn't time fly when you're having, er, fun.

I really enjoyed watching you gig at The Birthday Bash on Saturday (15.10.05). Excellent entertainment - as usual. The new guitar-man is good. Didn't get to meet him. :o(

Half way through your set, a friend said to me "Doesn't their drummer look like a tall man playing a small man's drum kit?" So true! I only wish I had taken a photo. All the best things come in small packages! No comment.

Thanks for staying to watch me and Col do our thing. I never thought that I would see anyone who looks as 'rock' as Andy singing Tiffany. Quality! He is a big fluffy bunny really. Who happens to look like our Lord. Colisa were as entertaining as ever. I could listen to Lisa singing for hours. Even if it is songs by Eighties one hit wonders.

Hope to see you soon,
Lisa.

PS - Ken is still cool.

Having seen Neil DJ'ing at Ken & Jayne's wedding I eagerly anticipate seeing the LC's new Toasting numbers. Particularly liked the way he conversed with a mate all the way through an audience participation song rather than direct the dancing.
Neil would like to add that he is happy not to have known anything at all about how the dance should have been directed as he grew out of the need to follow the latest foibles of pop music long before even Agadoo was a smash on the hit parade. What is more remarkable is that both Rammstein and Monster Magnet were played at a wedding. Now that is something that doesn't happen often. Just be thankful that he talked the bride out of using The Birdy Song.

Sorry I couldn't stay for the whole of your set (I think I might have sneaked out without being noticed), but what I heard was excellent. Good luck in finding a new guitarist. Andy, expect a call.

In reply to the last couple of postings, the piccies came from my photographic archive (there are many more in there from a certain "Worcestershire town on the Avon" of teenagers from the mid 80's. Just reading your older posts and wondering if the lyrics to "Nina be my girlfriend" as suggested by Richard 'TUFTY' White, might have been about a certain 'Nina, bury me in a Y shaped coffin' from a certain small Worcestershire town on the Avon??.

I found your website because I was looking for something else. I will probably never see you perform, talk to you, or meet you, because I live about as far away from you as you can get. But I was scanning through in search of my original topic and felt compelled to write after I saw all your self-deprecating comments about your song lyrics. Okay, maybe i haven't heard the songs, and hell, maybe they DO suck! :) But frankly I liked a lot of the lyrics and felt more to feed on there than I have in most of the mainstream stuff that is usually la-la-la-la'ing on the radio. So I think you should post the lyrics and let them be. I mean, if you are going to post them at all, don't bloody apologize. Just let your audience make the decision. And believe me, someone will find something in there to move them. And if they find something in there that has meaning, and then you insult your own work, it pretty much insults the person absorbing it too. So, good luck, good work, (Westley...I'll most likely kill you in the morning :)...you're in a band - understand you're a part of the only real religious experience most Westerners have these days, and behave with respect for the gift you have.

Ello, peeps.
Just wasting my lunch hour at work looking for cr*p on the net.
Can we add a link to the Harpies web site?
www.harpies.co.uk
They do rock, and they are very good, if you like heavy industrial noise metal.
By the way, I've been told off for pulling faces on stage (or was that feces(sic)?)
I've been told I must be more "serious and cool".
I still reserve the right to extract the urine at every possible moment however :)

Anyway, we may not have won our battle of the bands round last night at the Hibernian, but hell it was fun, and good to only play for 20 mins so I wasn't completely knackered :)

Next gig on the way, I will try and organise something for end of september/beggining(sic) October.
which I'll probably have to cancel so I can move house.
Anyway, more gig news when I have it, hope to see more of our hard-core fans at the next one ;)

Found this off your last e-mail plug - I am now hysterical, or something.

Two things:

I remember the first farm gig, p*ssing about with the lights in the rain, watching the gig and then somehow surviving Wardies' Gulf War surplus fireworks - don't think I was at the second though!

How the f**k did you get Tony to do a happy song? I'm going to ask him if you did as it sounds a bit improbable at that period...

Immortal Alice | Junk Culture
Digbeth old Railway 2nd July
Birmingham

Should be a top night, it is the first proper night of the Immortal Alice/ Junk Culture uk tour all stops will be pulled out!

Immortal Alice are flying over from Boston for the tour dates. They have had three albums out in the states and will be recording tracks for their upcoming live album, so make some noise! Immortal Alice are a band not to miss, they have been tipped for very big things. They have been compared to the likes of NO FX, Operation Ivy and the Breeders.

Junk Culture are my band so I shan't say too much, we have influences ranging from the Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Stone Roses and even Iron Maiden!

The tour is to promote a split album between LoveJunk, Immortal Alice and Junk Culture, but as is the way with these things it won't be coming out until after the tour, bah!

So, hope to see you all there. Come say hello, I'm the guy in Junk Culture wrestling with a bass!

You may just possibly be the only group in Britain to play a cover of the Stone Temple Pilots. Most other bands would go 'huh? eh? what? they a bit like Pearl Jam?' Nice gig at Harborne carnival, by the way - even if you did become more sweaty than even Matt from Cage (and that's saying something.....)
Actually, I thought we were the only band to do Stone Temple Pilots covers until I saw an advert recently in Ritch Bitch Studios for a band that claimed to include their songs in the set. Shame.

I believe my contribution to Hormone Implant was enthusiasm (and definately no talent) . Didn't we call ourselves 'Courderoy Nightmare' for a while? I suggest the Love Commandos cover Whole Lotta Rosie by AC/DC which was one of Hormone Implants greatest covers. If you can remember it Ken, you could also do 'Nina be my Girlfriend!!!! I will happily supply the lyrics.

Best wishes to you all,
Richard.
